A finish, an exchange and a Meet Up

Lots to share today :)

Firstly - I have finished my part of Tina's RR from Stitch and Stash. She is doing the Calendar Cats and I chose to do February. I have not done the back stitch on the flowers because I cannot find the details for the thread colour. I do think they are cute. It's next stop is Dusty in USA.

I'm not sure what I'm going to stitch next, I have plenty to choose from LOL. I might try to get my Travelling Stitcher finished.

As a member of Stitch and Stash I have launched an April Fool Exchange - it's a non-stitchy exchange and of course has a surprise. This exchange is open to everyone and I've set up it's own blog April Fool Exchange . Please pass the work around, thanks.

April 24th is Meet Up day here in Nuneaton. It's 10am  - 4pm, and afterwards we're going for a pub meal. Again I have set a blogup - all details are here Nuneaton 2404 Everyone is welcome the more the merrier.

In half term I visited Julie and had a lovely afternoon. I am disappointed that now we have decorated lots of my small stitchy can no longer go on the walls .Julie has lots of her work displayed in stand up frames and I have decided to do the same and cover the conservatory windowsill. This idea did cause a problem as my wall ones had no stands on the back. After many emails to my favourite framers (Frame Express) I finally understood which measurements they needed - good job I don't teach maths- and 7 new backs will be ready today at the huge cost of £5.00 yes total price lol. They are in Coventry so no postage but they are cheap with that too. If you need a frame they are fab and their online programme helps you get the sizes and colours right with the mounts too.

These are my International Bears - countries where we have friends or family; they include: Norway, Canada, USA, France and United Kingdom. The charts were freebies from Vermillion Stitchery but quite a few years ago.

And this shows themaltogether. Theone infront is my sewing picture. It was sent to me as a birthday present many years ago as a kit - it had cost my USA friend just $1 including the gold charm.

That's about all my update although I do feel I've forgottensomething LOL. Thanks for reading,   hope you join in the echange and/or come along to the Meet Up.

TUSAL, a Finish and the RR

It's been a while since my last blog, no reason other than I've been busy. Time seems to run away in the evenings - most nights I get about 20 minutes stitching done, which explains why my TUSAL isn't growing very fast and I have so many things to stitch still LOL.

Yesterday was Philippa's 16th birthday. We had a lovely day out in Birmingham, her boyfriend had bought her tickets for Traces (a dance show) and we all went to Pizza Express for tea. Tuesday night all the Grandparents came here for a buffet - this is Philippa with her cake, which she made herself.

Whilst in Birmingham DH and I went to the BBC to have a look round and Keith Chegwin passed us on the stairs - and later on we saw Gok Wan in the Bull Ring recording his show.

Like I said before I have only been managing about 20 minutes stitching so my TUSAL jar has not grown much but there are some additions. It's for the TUSAL 2010 SAL organised by Yoyo.

I have finally finished my Fa La La for the Little House Needleworks Ornie SAL - I did change it slightly. The Pear Tree is my next one to start -hopefully it won't take as long.

And finally this is my progress on Tina's Round Robin from the Stitch and Stash RR. I have left all the blended stitching and white stitching until the end but you can see his shape now. Tina's peice is the Calendar Cats by Heritage Stitchcraft.

Well that's all from me for now as I have to go and cook lunch, make Ruby's dinner for tonight (I am picking her up from the kennels at 4 and she'll be ready for her dinner|) and I'm off to Julie's this afternoon for a coffee and a chat.

Thanks for reading my news, happy stitching.

New Lounge

We have had the lounge redecorated- it was previously beige and goldy coloured widestripes.

It's not finished as we now don't like the carpet with the new paper - I sort of new this would happen and DH has agreed we can have the carpet taken up and used for the stairs and landing as Ruby has wrecked that carpet (and it is the perfect colour match - you can see the hallway through the door).

We are off shopping Sunday to look at two new leather two seater sofas so the green and gold suite is going, and then in a few weeks the new carpet.

You can see the lounge is mainly painted with one wall papered and then the conservatory side has the paper on the arch wall. Once we get the rest of the stuff it will be great - feels odd inbetween - look one way and it's new, look the other and it's old LOL

It is nice to have Ruby back from the kennels - she is so much more settled now.

Now we've put the lounge back together I'm off to do some stitching :) have a good weekend everyone.

Monday 1st February

Just a quick stitching update from me.

First is the LHN SAL which was for January but I ran out of time. This is how far I got but I am enjoying it so I don't think it will turn into a UFO. Maybe I can finish it in Feb. As ever my photo is on it's side - sorry.

I have also been working on St George for the 2010 Weekly SAL. I am not enjoying it at all and the frog keeps visiting but I am going to keep going.

and finally I amhoping to get started on th Stitch and Stash Round Robin. Tina's piece arrived Friday and I've sorted out all the threads, it's the calendar cats and I'm going to do February being as that's the month we're in.

The decorator has started on the lounge so I'm up in the bedroom posting this - I'll share the new lounge photos when it'sdone.
