July Smalls

Mary at Mary's Thread is the lovely host of the Smalls SAL. On the last Friday of the month we share our small stitching items that we have completed but not necessarily fully finished. As today is Saturday you can see I'm a day late in posting ... oops.

I have not stitched as much this month as I have been working on a very special gift which I'll share as soon as I can. I have been using my sewing machine too on another special gift, again all will be revealed soon.

I have stitched my Halloween piece for this month's Topsy Turvy SAL. It's a Durene Jones design, I do want to stitch the other too in this group too, hopefully I'll find time soon.

Oh a disappointing note Hubby and I tested positive for Covid last Tuesday, and our son now has it too. We have no real proof of where from but we have an idea ... so annoying as we've been so careful the last two years. We travelled all around Germany and France staying in different hotels and stayed safe. We're both fine, just heavy colds but nothing serious. I'm very sad though as today our daughter and fiance should have been here for a week and we have tickets for a few of the Commonwealth Games events. Yet again our special moments are delayed ... life is cruel at times, but we are ok.

TTSAL - Halloween

Yesterday was the opening day for the Topsy Turvy SAL album on Facebook - Halloween July 22.

As well as joining the TT SAL on Facebook, you can post about your stitching on your own blog or join in with the members of Needlecraft Haven but please wait until the 20th of the month so all our projects are shared at the same time.

I have not had much time to focus on my Halloween piece but I have started one of Durene Jones' designs. Hopefully I will be able to finish it soon.

I hope your Halloween stitching went spookily well.

Gifted Gorgeousness in July

Gifted Gorgeousness is hosted each month by the lovely Jo at Serendipitous Stitching. GG, on the 15th of each month, is when we share our latest gifts. These can be gifts given or received, or any item made using fabric, threads, buttons, ribbon, chart, backing fabric that has been gifted. If you visit Jo's blog you'll find the links to everyone's Gifted Gorgeousness posts.

I'm a little late this month and only have one item to share.

And I can't really show much or say what it is or who it's for ... I can say that it is a very special gift for a very special person.

Thank you Jo for hosting GG again this month, I do enjoy reading about everyone's gifts both sent and received.

Fully Finished Objects in July

Rachel, Ten Hour Stitcher, hosts Fully Finished Objects, a super chance for us to show and tell about the crafty items we have completely finished. Thanks Rachel, your FFO prompt each month really helps me finish my projects, especially my letters for this year church tree.

I only have a few FFO this month as we had a lovely long holiday in Germany and France. There's plenty of photos in my travel blog.

My first finish is very special to me and hopefully the first of many. I previously blogged about my late Dad's pennants and how I'd washed them.

Well I managed to have four pennants ready for the Jubilee celebrations. This one had frayed binding and was gathered so I carefully took the old binding off and replaced it.

I'm so pleased how it turned out, it looked perfect around my cake table. I now have the others to do.

My other three FFOs are letters for the Alphabet Tree. I need to see how many I now have, I'm hoping there is about enough so I can concentrate on other stitching.

Thank you Rachel for hosting another month of Fully Finished Objects.

I love Halloween, the Needlecraft Haven Spooky Exchange is one I look forward to each year. This is the ornament I stitched for an exchange a few years ago, and the double sided scissor fobs I stitched more recently.

You can join in with the Topsy Turvy SAL with the Facebook Group, with Needlecraft Haven or by posting on your own blog after the 20th.

Happy Haunted stitching, the Halloween album will be open on the 20th July.
