February's Gifted Gorgeousness

I'm a day late but yesterday was the 15th of each month which means it's Gifted Gorgeousness time, the time each month when we share our latest gifts. These can be gifts given or received, or any item made using fabric, threads, buttons, ribbon, chart, backing fabric that has been gifted.

This great idea is hosted each month by the lovely Jo at Serendipitous Stitching,  if you visit her blog you'll find the links to everyone's Gifted Gorgeousness posts.

My first gift is a scissor fob I made for my friend Mary. I really enjoyed stitching the blackwork and was so pleased to find fabric, thread and ribbon to complement each other.

Last year I spent some time making cards to use up some of my crafting stash. I sent Mary one of the small decoupage ones, a bit fiddly but fun to do and quite effective.

My second gift this  month is my Valentine's Exchange from ??

A few members of Needlecraft Haven took part in a Valentine's Exchange, organised by Mary. It's a secret exchange so not only do I not know who sent this lovely ornament and my delicious chocolate heart but I can't share the gift I made and sent to my partner.

Finally a non stitchy gift. One of my lovely friends gave me this unusual Bouquet as a  'thinking of you' gift when a close relative passed away. It's very cleverly put together; the single colours are artificial carnations and the multicoloured ones are rolled up socks.

Tomorrow is our daughter's 27th birthday but we haven't been able to see her this year with the travel restrictions. We've sent gifts including something I have stitched and will share next month. I'm looking forward to our video call tomorrow to at least see her when she opens our gifts ... I cannot wait until we can visit again.

Thanks for taking part in GG this month. The scissor fob makes a lovely gift and what a nice secret exchange gift too!
Hope your daughter had a good Birthday even if you couldn't see her.

Your gifts are all lovely, Clare. I adore the blackwork one, it is very eye-catching, and the ornament you received is beautifully stitched and finished too.

I saw the scissor fob and my immediate thought was "I have one like that" and then I remembered that I was reading your blog! Duh!
The floral gift is a good idea.
Hopefully it won't be too long before you see Pippa again.

I love the "floral" wreath and it is so hard to be so far away from your daughter, Clare. Where is she? My DS1 is in UAE - so a very long way from Australia!

Both are lovely pieces and finished beautifully. What a fun bouquet to receive, and useful too!
Even though you can't be there in person to be with your daughter, at least you can see her. I hope she had a great day.
