Happy St David's Day 🏴
St David is the patron saint of Wales, tbe Welsh symbols are leeks and daffodils. I love to celebrate the UK's patron saints with food from that country. Tonight we're having lamb steaks with homemade welsh cakes.

I also make sure we have daffodils in the house from today as it is the start of spring. I make sure we have fresh ones all the way to Easter which this year is mid April. I use my Grandma's vase until Easter time when it is used for my Easter Tree.

Spring is here |
I really enjoy making themed dinners and changing things around our house for different events, holidays and the seasons.
As it is now spring I have changed my Jardin Prive tree and my Drawn Thread mantle picture. My spring mini pillow is also now on display.

Springtime is when our days get lighter and warmer and the garden comes to life - it makes us all feel brighter after the dark days of winter.
All of your stitches are so lovely Clare. I really love the one by Drawn Thread. I have never heard of Welsh cakes...what exactly are in them? They look delicious. I like how you celebrate the holidays with food and design. RJ@stitchingfriendsforever
ReplyDeleteThey are quite easy to make - here's the recipe https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/5569/welsh-cakes
DeleteBeautiful stitching!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love this time of year when all the Welsh folks (and friends of!) post all their daffodils! They have just started to pop through the ground here so no flowers for a good while. Your spring stitches are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThose Welsh cakes looks delicious. Beautiful vase for the daffodils.
ReplyDeleteLove your stitchings.
I bet the tin is now empty!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to ring the changes with the themed stitching isn't it, the drawn thread is a pretty one.
xx
Lovely post, I finally made my Welsh cakes yesterday. They are lovely with a "buppa" tea! If only our daffodil buds weren't under the snow. But I did wear my daffodil pin.
ReplyDeleteSuch nice stitching, especially the mini pillow. Bring on spring!
The Welsh Cakes look yummy. Lovely seasonal stitching too
ReplyDeleteMy parents spent St David's day in Cardiff again, it seems to be a habit for them now!
ReplyDeleteI still have my Winter themed stitching out, I must get it changed soon.
